Summer is coming up fast. Many people have lots to look forward to this year, especially as so many of last year’s planned activities were benched due to the coronavirus. As it turns out, some of our canine companions also have plans for the coming months. Here, a Chesapeake, VA vet lists a few of the things that are on Fido’s agenda.
Spend Time With The Humans
Fido didn’t get the nickname of Man’s Best Friend for nothing. Your cute pet really just wants to hang out with you, napping at your feet or just quietly spending time with you. Pay lots of attention to your furry best friend!
Work On My Begging
Dogs have been with us for as much as 30,000 years, which means they’ve had a very long time to perfect that sad-puppy expression that works so well at getting us to share food and treats. Giving your canine buddy snacks is fine, and is actually beneficial, but don’t spoil him.
Score Belly Rubs
There are few things cuter than seeing a pup blissfully closing his eyes when he’s enjoying getting some attention. Indulge those adorable requests for pets and belly rubs! You may very well find that you can’t help but smile when you’re giving Fido the attention he craves so much.
Have A Cold Treat
Ice cream is definitely one of our favorite summer treats. Fido can also enjoy his own version of this classic snack. You can pick up doggy ice cream in many pet stores or supermarkets, but you can also make your own. Look online for recipes, or experiment with your own. Just stick to ingredients you know are safe.
Go Exploring
Dogs have a special way of urging us to get out into the world and explore new places. Take your furry best friend on a fun excursion to a new park or trail, and let him just enjoy being a dog. Barke diem!
Be A Good Boy
There are many things to love about dogs, but one of the best things about Fido is the fact that he is so eager to please. Our canine pals look adorably proud of themselves when they know they’re being good! Remember to reward your cute pet for behaving.
